Who can resist a clever Halloween gimmick? I mean, zombies are so cool – and, you’d think, predictable.
Guess what? They’re not. But I’m getting ahead of myself.
When I saw the Ford Fiesta Zombie Escape game promo on MSN.com, I just had to check it out. Wanting to learn more about the game, I dug a little further and found @FordOnline. It turns out that the marauding zombies, part of the Ford Fiesta game room, will only be on the MSN.com homepage for today – but Fiesta Game Room itself will remain live on MSN.com until the end of the year.
There are actually four games in the digital ad unit: Zombie Escape, Fiesta vs. Lamborghini, Stack-a-Bear, and Beatbox Battle. The clever ads were created by the Team Detroit digital group in collaboration with some pretty cool Fiesta Agents (whatever that means).
But back to the Zombie Escape game and my sad attempts to evade the marauding zombies. The idea is to use the W, A, S and D keys to navigate to a) escape the zombies and b) find the Fiesta keyfob. If you want to know what that’s all about, play the video. Of course, being the directions-oriented individual I am, I played the video, read how to do it, and gave it a go. Make that numerous attempts.
Alas, the zombies corralled me every time. Turns out I’m just not cut out to be a videogamer. But I had so much fun that I got everyone I know to check it out. I can just imagine how many of my family and friends posted links on their Facebook and Twitter pages.
So, are you up for the challenge? Just in time for Halloween, how can anyone (who loves all things spooky and fun associated with the eagerly-anticipated day) resist?
Gotta go. I have to see if I can outwit those deadheads (literally) this time…[@FordOnline, MSN]
