With added power for 2010, Hyundai's midsize offering is now competitive with the best from Honda and Toyota -- for thousands less.  It has a nice, stylish interior, with flowing lines and comfortable seating.  And, for a tall vehicle, it's easy to maneuver and park.  It's also available under $23k, even with the optional all-wheel-drive system.

You might have to buy your next car with snow driving in mind, but you're still going to drive in on unfrozen roads most of the time.  Of all the vehicles on our list, the CX-7 is the most fun to drive when the weather is nice.  A firm, sporty ride and engines with a lot of thrust for this class make it the sportiest midsize SUV in its price range.  But it can also hold its own on the ice, with optional AWD.  An added safety bonus -- it has the best brakes in its class.
