2011 Affordable Large Cars Rated Top Safety Picks Page 2

Toyota Avalon

Offering consumers low long-term ownership costs as well as reasonable purchase prices (MSRPs starting at $32,445 for base and $35,685 for Limited), the 2011 Toyota Avalon is a Top Safety Pick. With its roomy, upscale interior and quiet, comfortable ride, it’s an alternative to entry-level luxury sedans. Avalon is often cross-shopped with Buick LaCrosse and Hyundai Genesis. Standard Avalon safety features include six airbags, stability control with off switch, traction control, ABS with electronic brake-force distribution, and brake assist. An integrated backup camera is part of a voice-activated DVD touch-screen navigation system (standard on Limited, optional on base).

  1. Obviously this is not a review of large vehicles as the new Taurus and the rediculously large and intrusive center console provides a much smaller front seat area than the old crown vic and no one in their right mind considers a Buick Regal as a large car.
