Not to be outdone, Chevy pushed its least-expensive pony car over 300 horsepower for 2011, too. The Camaro gets 312 horsepower from its V-6. It's just a bit slower than the Mustang to 60, at about six seconds, thanks to an addition 255 pounds of weight. But it's still quick enough to put a smile on your face, it sneaks in under the $24,000 mark, and it returns 29 mpg on the highway.

The sportiest Hyundai ever, the Genesis Coupe gets 306 horsepower when equipped with the 3.8-liter V6. In 3.8 Track trim, it's as quick as the Mustang to 60, and a more aggressively-tuned R-Spec model is due in dealerships in a few months. To get the V6, you need to spend at least $25,000. But for a well-thought-out cabin and 300+ horsepower, that's a bargain.
