Here's an example of how not to use a family car. Three teens in Maryland carjacked a Ford Escape, led police on a chase, and then, when cornered, attempted to escape (pun intended) by backing over a police cruiser.

Well, that inspired bit of genius failed, as the Escape ended up rolling over, and the teens didn't get away. As a bonus, the whole incident has been caught on video.

We here at Family Car Guide do not condone auto theft. But we can't help but laugh when one poor decision leads to another, and that final poor decision leads to thieves getting their comeuppance.

No teenagers or officers of the law were seriously hurt in the making of this video, but all three of the teens were charged with multiple crimes, including possession of marijuana. One of the teens is 15, and so he was not charged as adult.
