Boasting a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that can push out a strong 300 horsepower, it nearly demolishes its previous model, which was a five-cylinder producing a mere 208 horsepower. The feature that seems to be catching the eye of many consumers is the Pedestrian Detection system. By using a variety of sensors surrounding the car, the vehicle will apply full brakes if a pedestrian walks out in front of you, or behind you. While to an average human, calculations such as reaction time, and brake pressure must be considered, the new S60 can detect pedestrians immediately and prevent hitting one at upwards of 20 mph.
