It's Friday, and we can already hear our office manager banging the tequila slammers, but before we head home to pack for the 2010 New York Auto Show, we'd like to leave you with our favorite video clip of the week. It's a German spot advertising Volkswagen's lane assist feature, which you'll find on models like the 2011 VW Touareg at left. It's fairly subtle as car commercials go, but it's also the funniest thing we've seen in days. Well, the funniest thing that's suitable for publication, anyway.
The clip was created by the German outpost of DDB, the highest-grossing ad agency in the world. We're sure the company spends some of its dough in Mad Men style, schmoozing clients at lavish champagne parties, but clearly they're also using it to lure smart, clever, creative teams through the door.
Technically, the spot (and a less-compelling companion piece featuring a fox) is set to run only in Germany. But since there's not much copy -- and what's there is written in English -- we wouldn't be surprised to see it on American airwaves in the future. For now, though, YouTube will have to do:
