2010 Dodge Ram 3500
Chrysler has announced pricing for its lineup of heavy-duty 2011 Ram 3500, 4500, and 5500 Chassis Cab models. The trucks, which share interiors and exterior styling with the 2010 Ram Heavy-Duty trucks, are priced starting at $28,550, $37,265 and $38,975, respectively.
The Cummins 6.7-liter turbodiesel is standard on the 4500 and 5500 models and a 5.7-liter gasoline V-8 is standard on the 3500 model.
The company is promising a powertrain warranty of five years and 100,000 miles to go along with the only standard manual transmission on diesel models in the class--a 6-speed unit.
There are two cab styles--regular and Crew--and three trim levels: ST, SLT, and Laramie.
In order to get the word out about the trucks, Chrysler is embarking on a 14-state, 33-venue tour to show off its 2500 and 3500 series Rams. The Ram Heavy Duty Tour starts this weekend and the schedule is heavy on stops in Midwest, Southeast, and Northwest--areas that might easily been considered "truck country."
Ford and General Motors have been getting all the attention for their heavy-duty trucks, but that doesn't mean Chrysler has been forgotten. Sending the trucks out on a tour aimed at commercial buyers could help the company increase its recognition among consumers. At any rate, releasing final pricing info certainly won't hurt.
