2010 Buick Enclave CXL2 Has Style and Substance Page 2

2010 Buick Enclave FWD 4-door 1XL Rear Seats

There are many things to like about the 2010 Buick Enclave CXL2.  The power seats are comfy and supportive, with both heating and cooling systems for front seat occupants, second-row captains chairs can be adjusted and theres a 60/40 fold to the third rows bench seat with sufficient space for small adults.  The power liftgate makes life easier with hands full and theres 23.3-cubic feet of cargo space thatll expand to 115 cubes with all second and third row seating collapsed.

Buick includes articulated HID projector headlamps and fog lamps (that must be activated on start-up), one-touch front windows, rear parking assist with aggravating beeps, heated, folding outside mirrors with turn signals imbedded, leather/wood steering wheel with cruise on the left and some audio (no volume) and phone controls on the right, XM satellite radio, USB port, tilt/telescope steering wheel, Bose speakers on the sound system and a 110-volt power outlet.

Buick does cupholders really well, with two dedicated in the central tunnel, two in front doors, second row doors (that open, not slide) and at the base of the bi-level second row storage area where headphones for the DVD entertainment system reside, along with two cupholders for the third row.  There are grab handles in the B pillars to aid ingress/egress and vents in the roof for second and third row occupants, who have their own air flow controls at the rear of the first rows central movable armrest/small storage.  Rear occupants have their own map/reading lights, as well.

The navigation screen is a bit on the smallish side and the surrounding buttons are all the same, which isnt the most intuitive package.  The trip computers controls are on the center stack above the heating, air conditioning and ventilation controls and again, arent intuitive.  To wipe/wash the rear window one again must look to the central stack for assistance.  The front sunroof only opens about halfway, making its use negligible but it and the panorama roof have nice netted coverings.

The power of the 2010 Buick Enclave CXL2 is acceptable but the steering is a bit on the vague side.  Brakes are unnoticeably good.  Buicks got the most upscale version of this particular platform and has done a good job with it.  For some reason, though, it could have done more and it could have been a wee bit more modern in its tactile touches.

The Buick Enclave just left us comfortably numb.  As most Buick sedans and crossovers seem to do.

  1. There's volume controls on the steering wheel. They're on the underside on the same side as the rest of the radio/phone controls and it takes a bit to find them for the first time if you don't know where they are.
