2010 Jeep Rubicon Overview

2010 Jeep Wrangler 4WD 2-door Rubicon Front Exterior View

When it comes to all around off-road capability, one name comes to the mind of many: Wrangler. The Jeep Wrangler has proven itself to be one of the most capable off-road vehicles of all time, and it keeps getting better. When Jeep first introduced the Rubicon to the market, off-road enthusiasts began to drool. The 2010 Jeep Rubicon is no different--people still drool.

With best-in-class ground clearance and large 32 inch mud tires, this Jeep is able to go almost anywhere. Wherever the driver does decide to go, the Jeep will be carried there with a pair of strong Dana 44 axles up front, and out back. These axles are assurance that once the driver reaches the destination, they will not have to stay for dinner.

Do you have an appetite for rocks? If so, the super low gear ratio of 73.3:1 will help you crawl almost any tricky surface. The higher gear ratio helps to keep the driver at a nice and steady 0.5 mph. In turn, the driver will be able to focus more on the task at hand, namely, maneuvering the trail.

Power is generated from a 3.8-liter V-6 that produces 202 horsepower and 237 pound-feet of torque. There are two transmissions available for the Rubicon: a six-speed manual comes standard, and there is an upgrade to a four-speed automatic transmission. The Rubicon is able to achieve 15 mpg city and 19 mpg highway.

When the Rubicon is outfitted with the towing package, it is able to pull a commendable 2,000 pounds behind it. That way, when your friends get stuck in their non-Jeep vehicles, you will be able to rescue them and tow them home.

The Rubicon is fitted with the industry standard 3 year/36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. The folks over at Jeep have also backed up their powertrain with a 5 year/100,000 mile warranty to cover any breakage that might happen. Be careful not to break on the trail though, as you might not be covered.

Jeep has always been a venerable off-road name. The 2010 Jeep Rubicon is no slouch, and at around $30,000 it can hold its own against much more expensive aftermarket vehicles. This Jeep has everything needed in order to bring you to wherever you want to go, and beyond.

  1. Jeep really needs to up the engine to a Hemi V8 5L. Then it will be the Jeep we all want! I have the 2009 Rubicon 4-door and that would have made a world of difference!!!
