Ford Declines GM Challenge of Truck-of-War

January 29, 2010
Built Ford tough, huh? Maybe not so much… Ford declines GM’s offer for a “truck-of-war” between a Duramax diesel-powered Chevy Silverado HD and a Ford heavy-duty F-series with a PowerStroke diesel.

We recently posted HERE on the challenge issued by GM’s Vice Chairman regarding the little matter of “my heavy duty pickup is tougher than your heavy duty pickup.” The conditions of the challenge involved a scenario with two diesel-powered heavy duty full-size pickups from the top two of the Detroit Three (or two and a half, depending on how you look at it) chained to each other rear bumper to rear bumper to see which would out-pull the other.

Our colleagues over a PickupTruck.com are reporting that officials from Ford have graciously declined the offer of the challenge, choosing rather to “…let the vehicles speak for themselves.” Check out the post HERE at PickupTrucks.com for additional details.
