It's a big week at High Gear Media -- with a new version of TheCarConnection.com in your hands, and a new site we've launched with NASCAR, we're looking ahead to bringing you the best of the Web in 2010 across the Web universe, from our learned hands as well as from exciting new sources.
You may be up to speed with how we write about cars here at High Gear Media--we blend expert-written reviews and news with moderated contributions from car enthusiasts and shoppers. It's the only automotive network of its kind on the Web today. Today, we're showing you how you can become a High Gear Media writer, and at least, how to be jealous of one.
That envy-inspiring guy is Bruce Richter, the winner of our new writer contest. Today, Bruce is our reporter on the scene for an exclusive hook-up with Tesla Motors and their spanking-new 2010 Tesla Roadster Sport.

Bruce is Tesla's guest today, with me in tow. We partnered with our neighbors at Tesla to show off our new chapter in automotive media--and Richter's entry about the future of cars rose to the top of our favorites list. As Bruce writes on his story live at TCC today, "The future of the car, as we know it, is around the corner. What's driving it there, and what lies ahead?" It's great writing from an experienced voice that's outside the traditional automotive-journalist spectrum--an audience we're cultivating within High Gear Media as we stay up to speed with the future of journalism.
As a part of his day, Bruce wins an exclusive interview with Tesla designer Franz von Holzhausen, and an exclusive road test of the 2010 Tesla Roadster Sport for a High Gear Media story to be published soon. You can follow his trail up Sand Hill Road right here--I'll be Tweeting from the passenger seat while he enjoys a fully charged road test.
While you're reading, you can do what Bruce did, and join High Gear Media's team of car writers. Read Bruce Richter's fine piece of automotive writing here, then head over to our High Gear Media homepage and sign up to be the next new voice in auto journalism. We'll publish your story--and we'll be back in a few weeks with another exciting chance for new writers to join with our on-staff experts.
