Diesel-Hybrids, Fiat 500 EV, And Saab Dangles: Today At High Gear Media

January 6, 2010

The saga with Saab and Spyker continues--still--nearly a week after the original deadline for a deal or decision. Now it looks like Spyker is once again Saab's only hope, though it's not clear that the deal proposed will be accepted by GM. Expect a decision by tomorrow, as that's the new new deadline.

Fiat's 500 EV won't be so much trouble to define, however. A concept version of the car will be shown at the 2010 NAIAS show in Detroit next week. Sad news for greenies: no plans for production for this cute, smart little EV.

Speaking of green cars, we have a few more today, including work on diesel-hybrid powertrains at General Motors. Catch the word on their latest developments at Motor Authority. Over at GreenCarReports, there's more green goodness of the diesel hybrid kind, this time from Peugeot and Mercedes--plus a whole lot more.

CelebsAndCars lives up to the challenge, delivering our daily dose of snarky automotive paparazzo, again prowling around St. Barts, but this time catching Usher and a host of other celebs catching some winter rays.

There's a whole lot more to see around the rest of the High Gear Media Network, so check out these stories and more in the links below.
