Today's news is back into the swing of things after a quick holiday break, and there are a left over few gifts in the mix as well.

Mercedes-Benz is expected to turn out a plug-in hybrid version of its S-Class, much like the concept shown last fall in Frankfurt. No precise details on date or pricing are known yet, but don't expect it before 2012. Oh, by the way, Porsche is also rumored to be considering a three-cylinder Boxster. Check out the details at MotorAuthority.

As a sort of anti-present, or a present to minivan haters, Nissan confirmed today that it will not be building the Quest minivan after 2010, and will not build a 2010 version. A replacement is expected, but no word on what's coming has been released.

On the greener side of the fence, there's a sum-up of 2009's best posts and a look at how green a Ford Fusion Hybrid can be, while CelebsAndCars shoots for the stars with a range of celeb-car predictions.

  1. No love lost with the Quest being eliminated from the Nissan lineup. I am a former regional employee and that was the one vehicle I would not recommend to friends and loved ones. Good engine but bad fit/finish, power door mechanicals.
