Just a couple of weeks ago, we discussed Mercedes-Benz's plan to retool its popular CL model into a new S-Class coupe. Now we've gotten word that the next-gen S-Class will offer even more features, including a hybrid option on the S-Class sedan. The system will be similar to that shown at Frankfurt last fall in the Vision S500 Plug-In Hybrid Concept, which paired a 3.5-liter V-6 combustion engine and a lithium-ion battery pack. The hybrid sedan is expected to earn around 70 mpg and hit 60 mph in under six seconds. For more details, check Viknesh Vijayenthiran's report at MotorAuthority.
