Jokes about men's and women's driving abilities have fueled more stand-up routines than we care to remember, but a new study indicates that there may be some truth behind those yuks. Researchers in Germany put 65 men and women behind the wheel of an Audi A6 and tested them on head-on, reverse, and parallel parking. The results? Men parked more accurately and about 20 seconds faster. And as if right on cue, we get a new Park Assist ad from Audi's big brother, Volkswagen:

A word of caution to our male readers: apart from the fact that the study seems too small to be definitive, rubbing these results in the face of the missus might not make for the happiest of holidays. Just sayin'.

  2. i agree with dave. are we supposed to be surprised? women cannot drive. they accelerate constantly and canoot keep a steady speed, especially on the highways. if you signal to get in a lane, they will speed up. they tailgate you and to them it isn't tailgating. i can go on forever. thank god they make up for themselves in bed (some do at least)
