Folks of a certain age will no doubt recall the snazzy Mazda RX-7. In the early 1980s, while Van Halen fans were cruising the strip in Trans-Ams and Firebirds, their equally badass New Wave friends were tooling around in Madza's RWD sports coupe. (Hopefully, without their less-badass friends crammed in the barely there back seat.)
Unnamed sources have told InsideLine that Mazda may be readying the RX-7 for a return -- and that the stunning but slow-selling RX-8 may be on the chopping block. The RX-7 is rumored to have a target price of well under $30,000, which could make it quite competitive with the upcoming Hyundai Genesis Coupe, the revamped Toyota Celica (or whatever they're hoping to call it), and a host of other sports coupes.
