Major automakers spend a lot of time and energy developing product lines to fit every nook and cranny of their client base. Nowhere is that more evident than at Mercedes-Benz, where the nomenclature shell game is expected to transform the beloved CL into the new S-Class Coupe for the 2011 model year. Among the changes likely to take place in the shift to S-Class are downsizing of the CL's V8 and V12 powerplants to more efficient ‘MoVe’ V-6 and V-8 turbocharged engines. Other enhancements -- like stop-start technology -- should help fuel economy and meet stricter emissions standards. For a full overview, check Viknesh Vijayenthiran's article at Motor Authority.
