Executive Shakeup: Heads Of Buick, Chevy, GMC Are Out

December 10, 2009

Apparently, Fritz Henderson's dismissal was just the first item on GM Chairman Ed Whitacre's to-do list. Brent Dewar, the head of GM's Chevrolet brand, has also been kicked to the curb: he'll retire on April 1, 2010 and will be replaced by Jim Campbell, who led GM's fleet and commercial sales.

But wait, there's more! After just ten days as the head of Buick and GMC, Michael D. Richards is also leaving General Motors -- and apparently, that's effective immediately. (Whether his departure is self-imposed or part of Whitacre's personnel plan remains to be seen). A replacement for Richards hasn't been named.

All of which is to say: Lutz might not want to unpack the photos and staplers in his new office just yet.
