The biggest news in the industry this morning is GM's release of its first post-bankruptcy financial results, revealing an operating loss of $261 million and a "managerial net loss" of $1.2 billion. But despite the red bottom lines, there may yet be hope as the new GM generated $28 billion in revenue in the third quarter, an increase of more than 20% over the old GM's previous quarter.
A group of 13 CEOs including Carlos Ghosn, Nissan's chief, are getting together to plan how to get EVs up to 75% of total vehicle miles in the U.S. by 2040. Get the full scoop over at GreenCarReports. On a similar--though decidedly less serious--note, CelebsAndCars takes a video look at Ian Ziering's recent quality time spent with the Chevrolet Equinox fuel cell EV.
Lotus also revealed pricing of its Evora 2 + 2 grand touring car today. It starts from $73,500 plus a $1,175 destination charge, putting it squarely in competition with Porsche's 911. It's also a competitor on performance, despite being much less powerful than even the base Carrera, thanks to its lightweight construction.
