We're not entirely sure what to think of Maverick Business Adventures; it seems like an old boys club for folks who run $1 million+ companies. According to a press release, the "mavericks" get together several times a year for "networking and high adrenaline adventure". Their newest adventure: motoring up the Pacific Coast Highway in the "Totally 80s Road Rally". The whole thing sounds a little too Forum-y for us, but the event's raising money for charity, so if you have the $10,495 entry fee, we say do it. Or, you know, just give that money to charity. 1. Hey Richard, appreciate the posting, but "Old Boys' and "Forum-y", you couldn't be more wrong. The average age of these Maverick entrepreneurs is maybe 37. There's nothing Mavericks do that's conventional or trendy. But one thing is for sure we are making the world a better place with our commitment to Give back/ Give forward through our charities and by teaching entrepreneurship to youth, especially dis-advantaged and at risk youth. Wait till you see our next "car-centric meeting in 2010. It's unlike anything you've ever seen...

    Bad stuff?

  2. I'm familiar with Maverick Business Adventures having attended one of their outings last summer in Colorado. These guys are all about sharing - with one another over business ideas and more importantly, with various charities and foundations they support through fund raising and personal donations. You won't find a group of individuals (men and women) with bigger hearts anywhere! It's definitely NOT an ole boys club - out for fun and frivolity. It is a membership of successful entrepreneurial visionaries trying to rewrite the way business is done and having a bit of fun along the way. Three cheers for Maverick Business Adventures!
