The 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show is now only a couple of weeks away, and Mini in particular is ramping up to do the show in style. On Wednesday, the company revealed its new Coupe concept, and soon after that a sketch of a second Roadster concept that's expected to join the Coupe in Frankfurt surfaced online.
The Roadster has been expected for some time now; so much so that a budding designer--Richard Mitchell--has conceptualized what he thinks would be the ideal Mini Roadster in the form of this design model. Mitchell, incidentally, is a transportation design graduate from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
The concept is built on the BMW 1-series platform, which means it gets a rear-wheel-drive layout and a longer wheelbase than your typical Mini. Mitchell even built a 1:5 scale clay model to show off the design attributes and proportions.
