Summer means a lot of things to a lot of people: beaches, mountains, hurricanes. One of our seasonal faves here at TCC is trashy seaside amusement parks and their budget bumper cars. We've always wished that we could take that fun home with us when Labor Day rolls around -- and now, thanks to Tom Wright of San Diego, California, we can. Tom's cranked out a fleet of street-legal bumper cars that run on motorcycle engines. Even sweeter: some are capable of hitting 160 mph, which is more than fast enough to outrun any carnies trying to chase us down. [Jalopnik]

  4. I grew up hanging out at the Pike in Long Beach; bumper cars were my favorite ride. After reading the posted messages, is Tom still selling these street leagal cars?
