New Mustang Site Lets You Tweak It Yourself

August 25, 2009

You've always wanted to play dress-up with the 2010 Ford Mustang--but until now you've done it in the secrecy of your own man cave, doodling over Mustang pictures like you did on your detention-hall notebook.

Ford knows you really want to do this stuff online, while you're Facebooking and Tweeting and avoiding work, so the automaker's put a new customizer tool on its Mustang pages to let you tune, tweak and sticker up the new 'Stang to your heart's content.

The new add-on to Ford's Mustang Web site lets dreamers doll up the pony car in lots of interesting ways. You can install hood louvers, add a big wing, dial in a custom paint color, turn it into a convertible, and lay on the bad-ass stripes that your dad wouldn't let you have on your 1978 Mustang II Ghia.

Once you're done, you can post your customized Mustang to Ford's Web pages, where other online tuners can vote it best of the week. You can save it to PDF and order the parts to get to work on your own car--or you can just send it to your Facebook page for your buddies to critique.

Fair warning: the Hello Kitty sticker's been done.
