There are many things we hope to see before we shuffle off this mortal coil. The end of world hunger. Vaccines for every disease. Robot butlers.
Among the items not on the list: a Chevrolet Aveo making laps at the Nurburgring. And yet, a camouflaged Aveo zipping down the straightaways is exactly what some crafty photogs have spotted.
We have a few questions about that--namely, what the bejeebus was this unassuming subcompact doing out there, frolicking amongst the supercars and Edelweiss? Deathwish? Joyride? Honestly, we don't know. We do know that General Motors is going to depend heavily on its Chevy lineup, including the Aveo, as it tries to pull itself out the financial doldrums. As such, it's only natural that the General would want to make sure its cars are up to snuff, and the Ring is one of the best places on Planet Earth to test 'em out. And who knows: setting high standards for their vehicles might actually result in people buying them. Just a theory.
If we hear anything definitive on this strange and strangely awesome sighting, we'll let you know. Until then, we're just going to assume it's a random Freaky Friday event. We now return you to your normally ordered universe.
