The good news: Mercedes-Benz is offering the same AMG sports package for 2009 S-Class and CL-Class models as it does for the E-Class and C-Class. That's a first. Hooray.
Now, the bad news: despite AMG's position as the performance unit of Mercedes-Benz, the sports package is entirely cosmetic.
Included in the deal is a stylin' front apron with "large air intakes", intended to boost "the visual impact of the S-Class and the CL-Class". The rear apron? Also tweaked, featuring "a striking black insert". We're glad to see AMG's gone all-out for this one.
The package also features two wheel options--19-inch and 20-inch--plus some wood trim, a wood and leather steering wheel, and--no kidding--velour floor mats. Presumably to match your jogging suit.
And how much would something like that run? Between €5,831 and €7,973 ($7,693 and $10,520). At those prices, you'd be douchebag not to buy.
