This week Audi released more details and some sweet video footage of its newest droptops, the 2010 A5 and S5 Cabriolets. 15 colors grace the handsome exterior and the cloth top comes in four different hues. Notice the ability of the top to operate at speed.
As always, the Europeans will get an exhaustive list of engine options. Gasoline engines are a 1.8-liter TFSI (160 hp), a 2.0-liter TFSI in two states of tune (180 hp and 211 hp), Audi's 3.0-liter V-6 (265 hp), and finally the firm's new supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 for S5 duty (333 hp). Diesel options are the Audi/VW 2.0-liter TDI making 170 hp in this application, a 2.7-liter TDI with 190 hp, or the 3.0-liter TDI (240 hp) that's found in a host of Audi (Q7, Q5, A4), Porsche (Cayenne), and VW (Touareg) products. Figure on the 2.0-liter TFSI, the 3.0-liter V-6, and the supercharged six for U.S. duty.
Front-wheel drive is standard; quattro all-wheel drive an option. Audi's excellent DSG twin-clutch automated manual now has seven ratios and is an option.
