Last Friday we told you about Audi's new uber-powerful TT RS with - oddly enough - a five-cylinder turbocharged powerplant. But unlike fives of yore with their strangely-bleating sonics, Audi's new unit sounds ready to rumble (Audi provided a delicious audio clip of the TT RS idling, accelerating, and joyously bouncing off its rev-limiter).
Here some more pics to add to the three we showed you last Friday; apparently, the roadster will be getting in on the five-cylindered fun.
Audi does indeed have a long history of five-cylinders, and this new member of the TT family picks up where the original Audi Quattro coupe left off, itself introduced on March 3, 1980 at the Geneva Motor Show. That rally-bred car impressed everyone with its performance, but the new TT RS will break with tradition by sounding just as good as it drives.
