Those Germans--always the romantics.
Volkswagen is bowing to Hallmark pressure with its latest Special Edition New Beetle. They call it "Blush"--and with its red interior and white paint, it's only a complete coincidence that it's been announced right before Valentine's Day.
The special edition's really a standard 2009 Volkswagen New Beetle Converitble, underneath the special trim. It runs on the power of the 2.5-liter engine that the Rabbit and Jetta share. It also sports standard stability control.
What makes it special are the colors--and the fact, surprise, that this is the only current New Beetle to have genuine leather for its interior. That leather is a lusty blood red, which contrasts nicely with the White Gold paint and red convertible top.
If you want a New Beetle and like to stand out as a target for Cupid, head over to the VW showroom. Just don't forget a present for the loved one in your life. A gentle reminder: that loved one should not be your car.
