We told you a while back that Volkswagen decided upon Tennessee as the site of a new plant that will build its new American market midsize sedan. Well now we have a sketch direct from Germany of the proposed sedan; TV station WRCB of Chattanooga got ahold of this sketch from Wolfsburg that was reportedly released by the VW Board.

The large sedan departs from current VW sedan design, being pleasingly long, low and wide. Unlike the high haunches and slab sides of both the Jetta and Passat, this rendering hugs the ground more like a CC or even the sleek Concept BlueSport concept.

As of now, the vehicle is referred to as the New Mid-size Sedan (NMS), and is slated to roll off the production line in Chattanooga sometime in 2011.

  1. "Nice!!"

Very American looking. Not what I would expect from VW. Unfortunatly a sketch and final prodution probably will not look the same.
