  • Tesla's Town Hall: Elon Musk is in the news again. This time he's trying to assuage the anger of Tesla customers, who were recently told the cars are going to cost more than expected. Musk is holding town hall-style meetings to smooth things over. Let's hope he's good at dodging shoes.  [Autobloggreen]
  • Pod people: There's a potential new people-mover on the scene--one that our friends at Automotto say beats the stuffiness and suffocation of current public transportation. Maybe it's just me, but in the rendering above, the Pendulous Concept looks like the very definition of stuffy and suffocating.  [Automotto]
  • Continuing Ed: The Society of Automotive Engineers is offering training courses for "displaced" auto professionals this February and March. The "tuition-free" classes run $25 per day for SAE members ($50 for non-members), but still, it's not a bad use of downtime. Perhaps some other workers' orgs could take the hint. [PRNewswire]
  • Slimming Down: GM has announced that it's going to cut its number of dealerships by 30%, or roughly 1,750, by 2012. That's a mixed bag for dealers, but according to my Econ 101 notes, it should reduce availability and boost demand on the remaining GM lots. [Freep]
  • They said it: For weeks, the autoworld has been abuzz with rumors about the identity of Top Gear's Stig. Finally someone has said what we've been thinking all along: who the fraggle rock cares? [Carscoop]
  • Gray lady gets racy: The New York Times posted an article about unintentionally naughty village and street names in Europe. We still love reading about Crotch Crescent, Titty Ho, and Slutshole Lane--just as we did when Autoblog broke the story a couple of weeks ago. What next? A splashy follow-up to the Times' groundbreaking expose on steampunk? [NYTimes]
  • TGIF music!: Here's a little something to get you through the workday: a fan video for Jamiroquai's "Black Devil Car", which the band's front man, Jay Kay, wrote in honor of--what else?--his black Ferrari Enzo. Pop on the earbuds and rock the cubicle:
