The 2010 Pontiac G8 ST
is surely one of the less likely new product choices made by General Motors since Bob Lutz took the reins of product development. A truck spun from the Pontiac G8 platform, it's powered by a 361-horsepower, 6.0-liter V-8 that's good for a 0-60 time of 5.4 seconds. A six-speed automatic is the sole gearbox. For truck cred, it gets a pickup bed that can carry about 1,000 pounds of payload and a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds.
For its SEMA debut, the G8 ST wears Liquid Hot paint and 20-inch wheels. It's lowered and has a hard tonneau cover that could make its way into production, if enough ST buyers express interest. Inside, there are leather seats with red inserts, a steering wheel with red trim, a shift knob with red detail, and a custom interior trim kit.
