Wrecked Exotics: 10 Most Expensive Crashes Ever

October 17, 2008
From the land of taking pleasure in others' misfortunes, the realm of rubbernecking, and deep inside the creepy minds trained on the truly grotesque, we present you Wrecked Exotics.com. These folks have chronicled an extensive, alphabetized log of bent and hopelessly twisted sheetmetal, sheared carbon fiber, shattered fiberglass, and a whole host of expensive machinery forever ruined.

The site just revealed its Top 10 Most Expensive Car Crashes Ever list, wrecks that it describes as being "in a league of their own." Indeed. The list reads like the top tier of attendees at Pebble Beach: Bugatti, Pagani, Gullwing Mercedes SL 300, Jaguar XJ220, McLaren F1, the infamous Enzo bifurcation on the PCH, the first Bugatti Veyron to bite the dust, and three more Ferraris to claim bronze, silver, and gold--gold meaning a $28.5 million 250 GTO whose owner stopped paying attention long enough to ram into the car in front of him.

Perhaps that was before all of these pesky anti-texting laws? Witness the savagery over at their site, but soak up the schadenfreude here courtesy of Maranello.
