Following the success of its Daptone Records Remixed CD, Scion’s
private record label, Scion A/V, is launching three new releases in May featuring Ghostface Killah, 45 King, and Rhythm Roots Allstars.
As with all the other Scion A/V projects, Scion will cover all the costs that go into the project (production, licensing, distribution, etc) and then donate 100 percent of the proceeds back to the artists. The remixes bring unique sounds to the table, so anyone can find a remix that matches their musical preference.
Scion sales promotions manager, Jeri Yoshizu said that Scion A/V “will continue to partner with tastemakers from around the world to deliver innovative products and sounds to our consumers.” And, that “by continuing to team up with both established and on the rise talent such, Scion proves its dedication to delivering great music and supporting the artists that make it happen.”
The Scion A/V Remix: Ghostface Killah contains four dance remixes of “Charlie Brown.” The Ghostface Killah vs. Rhythm Roots Allstars contains the original track of “Charlie Brown” with extra lyrics and rapping stacked on top of it. And the Scion A/V Remix: 45 King contains 45 King tracks with new emcees entwined in the mix.
Promotional copies of the Ghostface Killah releases will be handed out at special Scion-sponsored events on May 6th. On May 13th, Scion A/V Remix: 45 King will be able to be purchased online.
