Chevrolet Aveo Adds Hatch in Geneva

Follow Marty

Five months after the five-door Chevrolet Aveo was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, first pictures of the three-door have been released by the firm’s European arm. The new car's getting a world debut at the Geneva auto show in March.

Together the pair will replace the Kalos, one of the few surviving models from the Daewoo era before GM’s stewardship. The three-door model goes on sale next month, the five-door in June.

Buyers will have a choice of two gasoline engines: a 1.2-liter unit with an output of 84 hp and a 1.4 with 101 hp. Some markets may choose to offer only the smaller unit in the three-door car, as they did with the Kalos. Prices will start at the equivalent of around $13,500.--Richard Yarrow

  1. This is a Daewoo car rebadged as Chevrolet!(Made and designed in S.Korea),like the new Buick Riviera designed and mfd. in the great People's republic of China!.

  2. This is very good for the mfrg. economy of S. korea, and the U.S. american Chevrolet sales force,However,if the trend contiinue,The U.S. Auto workers should consider relocation to other countries ,or even may be relocating to other contries assembly plants in the USA.

  3. Isn't this just a facelifted Kalos? I guess in a sense this "new" Aveo 3-door is "replacing" the Kalos, but it is essentially just a rebadge with a hideously ugly new nose, gratuitous side sculpting (with FENDER VENTS!!) and AMC-reminiscent taillights.
