The story of Genesis in the Bible arguably is the greatest screenplay ever written. There’s plot movement—birth, death, eternal life, a big omnipotent creator and some truly great opportunities to show off next-gen CGI effects.
Hyundai’s Genesis story is a little different, although they might have spent as much as a James Cameron on the new rear-drive sedan they’re bringing to the U.S. At next month’s New York auto show, the sedan will show up in concept-car guise, dubbed the Concept Genesis.
It’s a new beginning for the Hyundai brand, which has been pushing steadily to improve quality and its brand image. The Sonata sedan marked the turning point in its street cred, and with the Azera sedan and new Veracruz, Hyundai is unabashedly putting itself in the same league as Toyota and Honda.
Hyundai didn’t have any more details for us, hence all the waxing poetic stuff. We’ll be less indulgent of our own logorrhea come next month when we’re in Manhattan and too busy to do anything but post pictures and chat idly on AOL IM.CONCEPT GENESIS: HYUNDAI AT SQUARE ONE
