We know lots of Knights we admire – Knight Rider, Bobby Knight, but most of all Christopher Knight, a.k.a. Peter Brady, who overcame middle-Brady syndrome to get buff in his mid-40s and proceed to whomp Lingerie Bowl star Adrianne Curry.
Now we can also look up to Carlos Ghosn, who was knighted this week by The Queen Her Royal Majesty – Lizzie to her friends – by remote from England to Tokyo, where the British Ambassador Graham Fry presided.
Ghosn’s honor wasgranted for his work in improving Anglo-Japanese relations, Bloomberg reports. It could also have something to do with the nearly $5 billion Nissan has poured into northeast England, creating jobs at the company’s Sunderland factory and generally allowing fewer Brits to claim dependency on the crown.
Ghosn, playing the moment perfectly, told reporters he was “proud and humbled” and thanked Nissan’s 5600 British employees, stopping short of thanking God and Joe Gibbs Racing and the Charlotte Motor Speedway crew. Because he’s not in NASCAR, right?
