The
biggest new model blitz in company history – that’s how
Subaru is describing
what will be on its stand at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
One of the
biggest draws will be the new Impreza WRX-based WRC Concept car. Described as an
indication of future styling trends for a world rally car, it will be unveiled
by Subaru WRC driver Petter Solberg at the German expo.
The
production version of the Impreza five-door hatchback, in 1.5 and 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated
format – will also be on the stand. Other exhibits include the facelifted Tribeca
already on sale in the U.S., with new front and rear styling,
easier access to the optional third-row seats, and a new 3.6-liter engine
mated to a more responsive five-speed automatic gearbox.
There’s
also a completely new Justy 1.0-liter five-door supermini, and the world’s first
horizontally-opposed turbodiesel engine – due in various Subarus from next
spring.
