Renault’s stand at the
upcoming Geneva Motor Show will appeal to the sporty, active-lifestyle crowd
with five vehicles tipped toward surf, sun, music, and, er, diesels.
The most
rugged version of the Megane Scénic yet is the Conquest, a new edition bound for
Geneva with styling meant
to give it a more rugged air. Raised ride height and a toughened suspension give
an SUV flair to one of
Europe’s most popular
family shuttles. Renault says the Conquest will come with a range of engines
including a 135-hp gas-powered four, a 130-hp diesel four, a 110-hp gas four or
a 105-hp diesel four. Standard features include backup sensors for parking,
alloy wheels, roof rack, and on upmarket versions, stability control.

The Clio Rip Curl really wants to be
taken on a surfing adventure – the French analogue to
Waimea
Bay, we’re not sure, but this Clio offers
Iceberg Blue paint, 16-inch alloys, and red-and-black interior trim. Inside the
audio system can be amplified by an MP3 player. A pair of diesels with either 65
hp or 100 hp are offered.

Last up is the Clio Renault F1 Team,
a special edition that allows everyday drivers to grab a little of the racing
series’ panache – if not any of the winnings. Renault celebrates its
back-to-back world championships by fitting the Clio with yellow paint, red
brake calipers, Recaro seats, and lots of decals. A retuned suspension and
17-inch wheels finish off the F1 hatch.
