2007 Nissan Altima Hybrid

The Nissan Altima Hybrid is on sale now in eight states across theU.S. for a base price of $24,400. But when the car’s income-tax hybrid credit is figured in, that price drops to $22,050.

The new Hybrid is offered in eight states that have adopted tougher emissions rules. They include California, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Nissan says the new Altima Hybrid is rated at 42 mpg city, 36 mpg highway.

Nissan also says the Altima Hybrid meets the Internal Revenue Service’s rules for the Alternative Motor Vehicle Credit, and thus qualifies for a tax credit of $2350.

Standard equipment on the Altima Hybrid includes power windows/door locks, a six-speaker AM/FM/CD system with iPod jack, anti-lock brakes and stability control, and dual-zone climate control. Side curtain airbags are standard, while Sirius or XM are optional.
