TheDetroit auto show puts the media to the test – not in how much coverage they can generate, but in how long their feet will hold out against Cobo Hall’s concrete floors.
Suzuki’s solution to low back pain came in the form of the Flix concept wagon, a version of the XL7 crossover turned into a mobile movie theater by Orange, Calif.’s Carlab. The Flix sports a big 60-inch moonroof that doubles as a movie screen – and with ample seats for tired media, Suzuki rolled out its ten favorite car scenes from the movies. Its projection system can also play movies on any vertical surface.
The Flix wears black paint and red LEDs on the lower valance. Inside, it has four bucket seats that pivot 180 degrees for the best viewing angle. A high-definition DVD player is installed alongside a hard drive for serving out music and video through the Flix’ THX audio system.
