Ken Schrader, in his own Federated Auto Parts Pontiac, won the pole, led the most laps and cashed in with his tenth career ARCA RE/MAX Series victory in his 29th attempt. Schrader pitted just once for fuel and four tires, and then battled back through the field before passing Hermie Sadler for the lead on the 134th circuit. From there, the Schrader fought off a late-race charge from Frank Kimmel to score the win. Kimmel, who got caught up in an early wreck, pitted three times to Schrader once, and still finished second by just .376 seconds in the #46 Advance Auto Parts-Pork Ford. Hermie Sadler led once for nine laps and finished third in his own #2 Bailey's Cigarettes Chevrolet. Sadler passed Jason Jarrett for position on the last lap. Jarrett, who led 39 laps, finished fourth in the #67 Gladiator GarageWorks Pontiac over L.W. Miller’s #19 Murtco-Hurley's Supermarkets Chevrolet in fifth. Schrader, who missed practice due to running the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at nearby Martinsville Speedway, showed up just in time for qualifying and won the Old Milwaukee Pole with a new one-lap track record. It was Schrader's eighth career ARCA RE/MAX Series pole award.

Petter Solberg brought his Subaru Impreza WRC2003 home to win the 12th round of this year’s FIA World Rally Championship. Solberg had crashed heavily at the pre-rally shakedown on Thursday, but his Subaru team worked through the night to repair his 555 Subaru Impreza WRC 2003 in time for the Friday morning start. Solberg repaid their efforts in fine style with a victory at the end of the third day of competition in Corsica. Solberg’s only threat through the final day had been Francois Duval in the Ford Focus RS WRC 03, but today’s stages proved difficult for the Belgian, who had never driven them before. Eventually Duval was caught and passed by Carlos Sainz’s Citroen Xsara WRC. Sainz’s efforts netted him the lead in the drivers’ championship – a series that Richard Burns has headed since Rally of Turkey in March. Burns’ eighth place drops him to third in the championship – three points behind Sainz – equal in points to Solberg, who is second by virtue of his wins. Marcus Gronholm finished 4th in the Marlboro Peugeot Total 206 WRC and Colin McRae rounded out the top five in his Citroen Xsara WRC. Sainz leads the FIA World Rally Championship for drivers, with Solberg down by 61-58, and Burns also at 58. Loeb is currently 4th at 55, and Martin and Gronholm both tied at 5th with 43 points apiece. In the FIA World Rally Championship for Manufacturers, it's Citroen in the lead with 137, Peugeot at 129, Subaru 88, Ford 78, Skoda 21.
