DOING THE CONTINENTAL, LINCOLN STYLE
As Yogi Berra might say, it’s likely to be déjà vu all over again. Lincoln plans to lift the slab-sided design theme of its Continental concept car and put it into production. The retro-styled sedan was first unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show, and “the reaction was overwhelming,” the luxury division’s president, Brian Kelley, told TheCarConnection. As a result, it will serve as the design prototype for future Lincoln vehicles. The first, a sedan smaller than the big show car, will be due to market by mid-decade, sources added. Lincoln is undergoing a massive re-shaping and will be bringing a wide range of new vehicles to market in the coming year, including a remake of the full-size Navigator SUV, the second-generation LS sedan, and the all-new Aviator sport-ute.
