Could anyone post a site offering best purchase prices for the 2009 Escape hybrid? Does the Priceline reverse auction buying system still exist?

We bought the new Ford Escape in early January 2009 and were very happy with it, until last week. It is now at the dealership waiting for Ford to send a new transmission. I understand things happen, but this is really bothering me to have such a major problem. I need to clarify the actual problem is a transmission solenoid that failed but Ford isnt even making that part yet for aftermarket. The solution was then to get Ford to send the whole transmission. I am not pleased to say the least, wish I could "back out" of this purchase.

Well, I must say I agree with Mr. Hall I too purchased the new FORD Escape 2009 Limited last thursday and sunday i had it towed back to the dealer because it was acting funny...i thought it was the transmission, but the service dept thinks it is some computer chip or something and it will not be ready until Monday

I have to tell you that I also have problems with this vehicle since the start when I purchased it in Oct/08. We tried for 3 or 4 months because my husband says its a new vehicle and needs to be broken into...well it has been nothing but problems. The transmission is now leaking all over the driveway. We brought the vehicle into the dealer and they kept it for the full day to change the sealers from the transmission or drive shaft they changed it all as they said since that day the vehicle has been worse than ever jumping gears and leaking again. Brought back to the dealer after 3 hours wait for the diagnostic they told me the transmission was over filled I told them they did it because they were the one that serviced the transmission. No explaination was given when told that they did the overfilling of the fluid. Now the clutch was all slipping with oil so the overfilling went to the clutch now its still at the dealers for how long who knows...6,000KM AND FED UP WITH THE 2009 FORD ESCAPE....

I've had my 2009 4 cylinder XLT since Dec. 2008. It has around 7200 miles on it and if you count the original trans, it is on it's third transmission. All leaks! It's back in the shop for the forth time, but if I wan't to use the lemon law, I have to hire an attorney. The car is leased and the dealership keeps giving me loaners, so I'll keep getting it fixed. Ford has given me back one month's lease payment so far, because of all the time the car has spent in the shop. My 2005 escape's trans went at 42,000 miles and I had to pay around $1,300 to get it rebuilt with the help of an after warranty program Ford has. I think this has to be my last Ford! I really like the car, it's a big improvement from the 2005 escape I had. Still waiting to hear from the service department, it's been 3 days so far. Fords customer care has been really nice to me, I have to grant them that. Right now I have 3 Fords in my name. Just shoot me!!!! haha

To Charles Cucci. Charles, all you have to do is contact the BBB and they will give you some options. I filled for 3 different cars over the last 15 years and won each time.

I have had my 2009 Escape for 3 months and it has been towed to the shop twice.... Both times it would not start.. the first time they said it was a fuse, second time, don't know yet, it is in the shop as we speak.... it has around 4800 km on it.... upon reading some of these reviews I would not have purchased the vehicle if I had been aware it has potential transmission problems as well.....
buyer beware

I've had my 2009 Escape for 8 months. Since I got it I've had a power issue. Frequently when I press the accelerator, the car bogs and loses power. My concern is the safetly factor.
Ford is aware that there's a problem but so far they cannot provide an answer on how to repair it.
Has anyone else had this problem?
A direct email to me would be greatly appreciated!
