2011 Hyundai Sonata Priced From $19,195

 

The 2011 Hyundai Sonata sedan is about to go on sale and in the lead up to its showroom arrival the South Korean automaker has revealed prices for the new car. The latest addition to Hyundai’s lineup is the sixth-generation of the popular nameplate and has been completely redesigned from the ground up, showing a design flair that's been absent from the model's repertoire.

Pricing for the 2011 Hyundai Sonata will start at just $19,195 for the base GLS model equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission. Moving up to the SE model will run up a bill of $22,595, while the range-topping Limited model is available from $25,295.

The only engine option is a 2.4-liter Theta II GDI unit developing 198 horsepower in the GLS and 200 horsepower in the SE and Limited. Matched to a brand new 6-speed automatic transmission or the 6-speed manual, this gasoline direct injected engine returns a best-in-class 35 mpg highway fuel economy.

The Sonata GLS manual has best-in-class overall fuel economy with a 24 mpg city/35 mpg highway fuel economy rating, with all other Sonata models achieving 22 mpg city/35 mpg highway--not bad considering the car’s 198 horsepower output surpasses that of the base Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, Chevrolet Malibu and Ford Fusion.

Standard features include Bluetooth connectivity, 16-inch wheels, electronic stability and traction control, active head restraints, front, front seat side and curtain airbags, an MP3-CD player with iPod and USB connectivity, and daytime running lights.
