Introduced in 2006, the B9 Tribeca is a mid-size crossover that resides above the Forester and Legacy Outback in Subaru’s lineup. It offers seven-passenger seating (though the third row is fairly cramped) and is reasonably sporty, with a standard 245-horsepower 3.0-liter horizontally opposed “boxer” six-cylinder engine and five-speed automatic with manumatic shift capability. All B9s, like all Subaru vehicles, come standard with full-time all-wheel drive. Since this is a new model that’s only been out for about a year, changes for 2007 are modest. The suspension has been re-tuned for a softer ride and a rollover sensing system has been added to all trim levels. There’s a new special edition version with mesh grille, chrome wheels, and standard XM radio (all ’07 models get pre-wired for satellite radio as well). Reverse Assist Sensing — which detects objects in the vehicle’s path when backing up — and remote start join the options list for 2007.
