For 2007, a 252-horsepower 3.6-liter V-6 (and new six-speed automatic transmission) becomes the standard drivetrain in GTP models (coupes and sedans) and head/curtain and side-impact airbags are now standard on the G6 coupe and sedan. There's also a revised rearview mirror with compass display. Base and GT models continue to be powered by a 224-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine. A 2.4-liter, 170-horsepower four-cylinder powerplant is also available. Two of the G6 line's biggest attractions are the availability of a folding retractable hardtop (for the coupe) and a panorama-style, four-piece sliding glass roof for sedan models. These are unusual features in a modestly priced (under $30,000) mid-size vehicle and give the sporty, attractively styled G6 a leg up over less well-endowed competitors.
