Murano

Offering a stylish alternative to boxier-looking SUVs, the crossover Murano sport-utility vehicle shares platforms and components with the more luxurious Infiniti FX35. Offered in a choice of front- or all-wheel drive, the Murano is powered by a 245-horsepower 3.5-liter, V-6 engine that's fitted to a continuously variable automatic transmission that eschews traditional gears for an efficient system of belts and pulleys. While there are no gears to shift, the CVT nevertheless includes a manual-operation mode. Four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes with Brake Assist and Electronic Brakeforce distribution are standard, and an available Dynamic Control Package includes Vehicle Dynamic Control, traction control and a tire pressure monitor. 2006 exterior updates include revised front grille and wheel designs, additional chrome accents, a brushed aluminum rear bumper protector, and new LED taillamps. Sunset Red and Brilliant Silver are newly added to the vehicle's exterior palatte. An Advanced Airbag System, enhanced instrumentation, illuminated steering wheel controls, MP3 audio capability, and a standard seven-inch LCD display are among the Murano's interior improvements. In addition, a RearView monitor is now standard on SL and SE models, an updated Leather Package is available, and a new interior color, Hazelnut, is offered.
