For the new model year, the mid-size Endeavor crossover’s trim levels have been significantly pared down; last year's XLS and Limited have been dropped from the roster entirely, and in their place buyers will find just the Endeavor LS and SE. The SE now comes in three grades—base SE, SE with the Sunroof Package, or SE with the Sunroof Package and a new DVD-based navigation system. Most big-ticket items (such as the GPS system and leather seats) are only available on SEs, which for '07 also comes standard with heated seats and a premium Rockford Acoustic Design stereo with Sirius satellite radio. Both the SE and LE continue with the 3.8 liter V-6 engine used previously, rated for 2007 at 225 horsepower and 255 lb-ft of torque. A four-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift abilities is standard, and both front- and all-wheel-drive models are available. All '07 models also get standard rollover-sensing side curtain airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system and 17-inch wheels. AWD-equipped models get Mitsubishi's Active Skid and Traction Control (ASTC) system; non-AWD versions get electronic traction control. Anti-lock braking with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) is now standard on both trim levels.
