Mercedes rear-drive, luxury sport coupe continues for 2007 with an up-rated SL550 replacing last year’s SL500. It joins the SL55 AMG, SL600 and twin-turbo, V-12 SL65 AMG — the latter producing 604 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. Other changes and updates for 2007 include a revised front air dam, clear taillights, and a new 50th Anniversary Edition SL550 roadster to commemorate the original 300 SL roadster. Four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Program, Automatic Slip Control, side airbags, a pop-up roll bar, and TeleAid emergency system are standard on all versions. Keyless Go entry/starter system, a heated steering wheel, and corner-illuminating fog lamps are standard. Run-flat tires may be ordered.
